Kody Kelly: 1B, (2023) Moeller, OH. 6-foot-3, 205-pound. In the box, the left-handed hitter recorded an exit velocity of 91 mph. Began in an open stance with a controlled load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was above average, used a simple rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Up the middle approach. Capable while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 72 mph; has sure consistent hands, and developing quick feet.
Hit: Doesn't look like your typical 2023 in the box/uber physical bat from the left side at 6-foot-3, 205-pound. Uses a smooth athletic load that comes together well. Aggressive swinger with well above average bat speed. Around 70mph according to blast. Like the potential here as he's impressive already with much more physical maturation to come.
Power: Potential to hit for some power.
Offensive Projection: Middle of lineup.
Field: Frame/skill set plays over at first base. Lateral mobility is there and ball skills are more than serviceable.
Throw: Clean arm through a high-3/4 slot.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
Hit:Very physical presence in the box at 6-foot-3, 205-pounds. Doesn't get cheated up there and has the tools to do damage when he connects. Generates natural spin to the middle/opposite field gap.
Power:Flashed gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Middle of lineup.
Field:Frame/skill set play over at first base where he offers above average athleticism. Ball skills are there as well.
Throw:Loose arm through a high-3/4 slot.
Defensive Projection:1B.
