3B/RHP, (2023) Whiteoak, OH. 6-foot-1, 165-pound. At the plate, Barnett recorded an exit velocity of 84 mph. (63.9 mph bat speed average). (19.6 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced quiet stance with a controlled load, then uses a quick stride. Had efficient bat speed, simple level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; showed a natural exchange, sure hands, and consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Performed well in the 60-yard dash, clocking a speedy time of 6.63. On the mound, used a loose arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses easy effort. Consistent balance point. Threw his fastball 81-85 mph. Shows slight running action.. Shows late tight action on his 10/4 slider (71-73)..
Scouting Notes:2023 to follow. Up to 76 mph with the fastball that has some late life. Complements the fastball with a slurvish breaker that he drops in the one consistently. Strike thrower.
