Leo Fornara: OF/RHP, (2022) Chagrin Falls, OH. 5-foot-9, 175-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Fornara had an exit velocity of 87 mph. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled smooth load, then uses a short stride. Has an upward swing plane, quick bat speed and high finish. Solid his best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 87 mph; had a clean exchange, sure hands, and consistent footwork. Used an-over-the-top slot with a long arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.44. Solid on the mound, has quick arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Curveball (69-70 mph), changeup (72-74 mph).Sat with his fastball at 83-85 mph.

Delivery Notes: On the mound he shows good balance and posture throughout his delivery. Doesn’t shift his weight down the mound or create momentum particularly well but shows a naturally quick arm. He has a bit of crossfire action to his delivery and throws from a ¾ arm slot with a clean arm action.
Fastball: The fastball was 82-83 mph with good life through the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1890-2180
Curveball: His breaking ball was 69-72 mph with curveball shape and spin. Pitch showed good depth and bite.

Changeup: The changeup was 72-73 mph.

Hit: At the plate Fornara uses a small step forward to initiate the weight shift and load during his swing. He remains balanced throughout his swing and has a bat path that mostly is on plane with the pitch. He gets his barrel through the zone pretty well and shows naturally good bat speed.

Offensive Projection: Should develop into a gap to gap threat.
Field: In the outfield Fornara takes aggressive routes to the ball while still showing good rhythm and timing. He plays through the ball well and shows a quick arm and transfer on his throws.
