Luke Shearer: RHP/SS, (2023) Olentangy Orange, OH. 6-foot-2, 165-pound athletic frame. In the box, Shearer had a max exit velocity of 83 mph. Begins in an open stance with a compact load, then uses a small leg kick. Has above average bat speed, rotational swing plane and level finish. Gap to gap approach. While in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 69 mph; has soft sure hands, a natural exchange, and fluid feet. Glovework is shown out front Used a loose arm action and a ¾ slot while showing consistent accuracy to the bag. On the mound, had a ¾ arm angle and a short arm action with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Changeup (68-69 mph), slider (64-65 mph). Threw his fastball 72-75 mph with a max of 76 mph; has consistent command and running action with tight movement. Shows a 10/4 curveball with slurvey action.

Began in an athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a leg kick. Had an an inside-out swing plane, and his bat speed was average. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 70 mph; has a developing exchange, soft hands, and consistent developing feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were average. Clocked a time of 7.34 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, showing good arm speed he had a long arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 75-80 mph; showed arm side control and running action. His 11/5 curveball (61-64) has gradual action. His changeup (69-72) has arm side control and fading action.
