1B/RHP, (2023) Calvert Catholic, OH. 6-foot-1, 230-pound. In the box, Johnson recorded an exit velocity of 92 mph. (73.8 mph bat speed average). (19.5 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was present, showed a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 75 mph; showed a natural exchange, quick feet, and soft hands. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Showed a high ¾ slot with a consistent arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 8.06. On the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action while showing consistent arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Produced a fastball that came in at 73-75 mph. Has slight running action. (Max spin 1744; Avg 1638). His 11/5 curveball (64-65) had slurvey action. (Max spin 1957; Avg 1902). He had slight action on his changeup (70-71).
