Mekhi Wright: RHP/1B, (2023) Wayne, OH. 6-foot, 180-pound. Started in a tall stance with a rhythmic load, then used a small controlled stride. Found a few barrels with some loud contact. Athletic projectable in the infield, his best throw was registered at 68 mph; has athletic in control feet, sure consistent hands, and a quick natural exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Smooth athletic on the mound, showed quick arm speed with an over-the-top arm angle and a quick arm action. Tall-and-fall type pitcher and uses decent effort. Showed strong consistent balance point and even shoulders. Lands closed with an athletic upright finish. (Max spin 2110; Avg 2071).
Hit: Balanced setup from the right side. Goes with a very smooth, athletic loading sequence that leads to a balanced launch. Path is level to downhill. Batspeed is developing while showing a present feel for the barrel. Overall efficient mover in the box who can use both sides of the field.
Power: Gap pop.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Field: Good athlete over at first base with above average athleticism for the spot. Looks to be well versed over there. Ball skills appear to be sure-handed.
Throw: Clean arm with more strength to come.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
Delivery/Scouting Notes: 2023 out of Wayne HS. Good athlete with a quick arm. Everything works downhill. A guy who has a chance to add easy velocity with maturity.
Fastball: Mid 70s pitch that will continue to add velo throughout his high school career.
Breaking Ball: Spins a big bending breaking ball that has more vertical than horizontal action.
Changeup: Developing third offering.
Pitchability: In/out.
Hit: Easy movements that come together well. Developing natural tools. Creates a solid amount of potential energy before trigger. Slightly downhill path. Pull side tendencies in BP. Young hitter with much more to come.
Power: Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection: Very young. A lot will determine how he develops physically.

Field: At 3B he showed average footwork and waited on the ball too much. Showed somewhat stiff hands and hips with a slow release on throws.

Delivery Notes: Physically immature athlete. Showed minimal explosiveness to his movements but they were smooth and athletic. Throws from a ¾ slot. Should add velo as he matures.
Fastball: Fastball was 66-69 mph and true through the zone.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1600-1800
Curveball: Curveball ranged 57-62 mph and showed a tumbling type action.
Curveball Spin Rate: 1400-1600
Changeup:
Pitchability: Average feel for his stuff presently but showed smooth actions that should lend itself to better projection as he matures physically.
