He uses a good crow hop on his throws coming from a ¾ slot reaching a top velocity of 77 mph. Left-handed hitter begins with a tall, balanced set up using a longer stride. Hands drop during trigger but makes up for it with quick hands, with good pop for his thin body frame size. Uses both fields well. Ran a 4.75 from home to first.
2/17/14 Young 5-foot-9, 150-pound body frame. Threw from a clean ¾ arm slot with slower arm speed. Fastball was straight at 71-73 mph. Curveball had slurvy, gradual movement at 62-63 mph. Changeup showed some tailing at fastball arm speed 63 mph. Natural actions from the outfield position. Not exceptionally quick, but plays through the ball. Top velocity of 74 mph through high ¾ arm slot. Starts in a tall setup at the plate. Tendency to drop the hands in his load. Some quickness to his hands with uphill path. Linear type hitter.
