Nathan Taylor: RHP/1B, (2023) West Clermont, OH. Cincinnati Commit, 6-foot-5, 210-pound. Solid on the mound, had a loose arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Has an athletic balance point and downhill shoulders. Lands soft with balanced finish. Sat with his fastball at 87-90 mph. Had slight running action. (Max spin 2298; Avg 2191). His 11/5 curveball (71-72) showed slurvey action. (Max spin 1676; Avg 1658). He had some fading action on his changeup (75-76). 6-foot-2, 175-pound projectable frame. Solid during batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 82 mph. Begins in an open stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Has above average bat speed, loose level swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels during his rounds. Line drive approach. Projectable while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 69 mph; showed a quick clean exchange, average feet, and sure hands. Laterally, his movements were average. Showed consistent accuracy to the bag with a compact arm action and a high ¾ slot. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 8.16. Projectable on the mound, showed quick arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Showed easy effort in his delivery. Lands square with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 73-78 mph with a max of 79 mph; had slight running action and consistent command. His 10/4 curveball (64-65) shows very consistent command and late action.
