Body Type: 6-foot-5, 230-pounds. Big, long frame with broad shoulders. Physically developed.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Somewhat stiff with some of his movements but still moves relatively well for his size. He uses his length well and creates good extension towards.
Fastball: T82, was mostly 79-81. Fastball was pretty true through the zone but seemed to jump because his ability to close distance with his length.
Slider: Velocity on the slider ranged from 65-71 mph. Was significantly better in the 70-71 mph range and become looser and more slurvey when it was in the mid to upper 60’s. Maintained good arm speed.
Pitchability: Showed some inconsistency with command of the fastball when fatigue factored in. Slider command was better.
Future Role: Profiles as a guy who could potentially start or relieve. If he can improve ability to use strength and size to increase velocity it will dictate what level he can get to.
6-foot-5, 210 pound first basemen has a big, physical frame to him showing quick hands produced a level bat path. Gets into a nice load generating positive momentum into his swing. Recorded an 83 mph exit velocity. On the mound this right hander showed nice arm action from a ¾ arm slot. Mechanically work was average with nice rhythm and he gets downhill well. Fastball was 74-77 mph and thrown for strikes. Curveball had average break to it at 62-65mph. His changeup was 72-73 mph. At first base his glove showed average fielding ability. Footwork is developing still in quickness. Threw with average strength across the diamond to third at 71 mph.
