Riley McElwain: LHP/OF, (2022) Columbiana, OH. 5-foot-9, 168-pound. On the mound, produced a fastball that came in at 77-79 mph with a max of 80 mph. Overall athletic delivery with signs of more tc come. Fastball showed late life through the zone. Curveball (71-72 mph), 1/7 shape with good depth. Also showed a changeup (69-70 mph) with regular fade. .
Riley McElwain: LHP/OF, (2022) Columbiana, OH. 5-foot-8, 160-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Mcelwain clocked an exit velocity of 83 mph. Starts in a balanced stance with a small smooth load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is raw and has a simple flat swing plane. Capable in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 79 mph; had consistent average footwork, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Fielded the ball out front with average movement laterally. Had a quick arm action on his throws. Clocked a time of 8.44 in the 60-yard dash. On the mound, showed quick arm speed, he had a ¾ arm angle and a loose arm action. Slow-tempo type pitcher who uses easy effort. Athletic balance point. Sat with his fastball at 78-80 mph; shows running action and arm side command. Shows a 1/7 curveball (63-67) with gradual action. Shows arm side control and fading action on his changeup (71-72).

Delivery Notes: Slow tempo delivery with a smooth easy arm motion out of a low ¾ arm action.
Fastball: Presents arm side run displaying more of a two-seam pitch at 76mph. Does a good job at keeping the front half closed.
Curveball: 1/7 break with average depth and bite at 65mph.
Changeup: Inconsistent at times but shows potential with some arm side fade.
2/17/20 Position Player
Hit: Starts out in a balanced setup from the left side. Simple, fluid loading sequence. Hips rotate well on time. Maintains a level bat path through the zone generating natural loft.
Power: Line drive type bat.
Offensive Projection: TBD.
Field: Smooth and under control in the outfield. Above average glove skills for his class.
Throw: Ball comes out of the hand well through a ¾ arm slot.
Defensive Projection: Outfield.
