Ryder Parsell: C/OF, (2023) Lakota East, OH. 5-foot-10, 185-pound. During batting practice, Parsell had an exit velocity of 89 mph. (69.3 mph bat speed average). (22.4 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed was quick, showed a short simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. While catching, he made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 79 mph; showed choppy feet, soft hands, and a fluid transfer. displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.99-2.06. Some flexibility and clean setup. Used a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Clocked a 60 time of 7.28 at the event. (Max spin ; Avg ).
5-foot-9, 170-pound. Solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 87 mph. Begins in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed was quick, and used a level swing plane. Found multiple barrels in his round. Line drive approach. Behind the plate, his best recorded velocity during throw downs was clocked at 75 mph; had quick footwork, consistent hands, and a fluid exchange. Produced pop times of 2.00-2.09. Has clean setup.
Hit:Athletic look to him from the right side of the box. Compact, level storke with intent behind his swing. Worked to both gaps, staying inside the baseball well for the most part. Hands are fast and strength is respectable.
Power:Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection:Top of lineup.
Field:Definitely has tools to work with behind the dish. Good athlete with quick feet. Expect pop times to continue to get better as arm strength develops.
