Samuel Zimmerly: 1B/RHP, (2023) Oak Hills High School, OH. 6-foot, 165-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 86 mph. (62.0 mph bat speed average). (19.2 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced tall stance with a controlled load, then used a toe tap stride. Bat speed is developing quick, uses an upward swing plane and high finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 73 mph; shows consistent feet, soft hands, and a clean exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.77. On the mound, showed some arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a consistent arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Sat with his fastball at 73-76 mph. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 2040; Avg 2012). Shows some action on his 11/5 curveball (66-66). (Max spin 1618; Avg 1474). His changeup (68-70) shows some action.
