Tate Scholvin: OF/LHP, (2022) Olentangy Orange, OH. 6-foot, 160-pound. Athletic at the plate, Scholvin's best exit velocity was 80 mph. (67.61 mph bat speed average). (21.21 mph hand speed average). Started in an athletic open stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Had a short loose swing plane, above average bat speed and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels during his round. Up the middle approach. Solid in the outfield, he showed the ability to make throws to the bases at 81 mph; has consistent rhythmic feet, soft hands, and a fluid exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Displayed speed and athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.8.
Scouting Notes: Two-way prospect. On the mound he has an easy delivery from the left side. Arm works well through a near over the top slot. Tunnels fastball well with his 12/6 breaking ball. Expect the breaking ball to sharpen up as he continues to add velocity.
