Mays is a right handed hitter that starts in a wide stance while being somewhat bent over at the waist. He maintains good balance throughout his load and his swing. He shows a good bat path that keeps the barrel in the zone. He showed above average barrel control and strong wrists and hands. At first base he plays with above average athleticism for the position. Feet are well timed allowing him to consistently attack the correct hops. Ball skills are developing.

Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 160-pound body frame with a solid/strong lower half. From behind the plate he shows adequate footwork while getting himself going into good direction on his throws down to second base. Would like to see him shorten up his arm action a little more. Recorded pop times between 2.21-2.37 and reached a top velocity of 69 mph. Right-handed hitter starts from a crouched, balanced stance. Swings with a level bat path through the zone finishing with a two-handed follow through. Showed the ability to use the whole field during his round of batting practice. Reached a top exit velocity of 83 mph and ran a 7.55 60-yard dash.
