2/24/18 Initiates swing from neutral set up with pronounced leg kick and stride staying neutral. Weight shift is aggressive followed by a somewhat passive hip turn. Hands work directly to baseball and swing is short. Benefit would be gained from incorporating a more aggressive hip turn and maintaining posture throughout swing.

Defensively, hands are soft and confident. Athleticism is evident in use of glove and footwork around the bag. Transfer is quick and clean followed by short throwing motion. Carter has makings of solid defender.

On the mound, works out of high 3/4 arm slot. Delivery is low effort and repeated well. Solid balance and rhythm are present. High leg kick and short arm swing create deception. FB at 77-78 was commanded with subtle arm side run. CB sat 62-64 showing 1-7 shape, late, sharp break and considerable depth. CH was inconsistent on this day.
