Some flexibility and clean setup. Showed a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.4.
Showcased a lean 5-foot-9, 150-pound frame with feel for his body and room to fill out as he matures. The right-handed hitter begins with a balanced, slightly open stance utilizing a toe-tap stride to initiate a slightly uphill barrel path into the hitting zone. Demonstrated the ability to hit behind the baseball with extension through contact point. Short stroke allowed for a middle of the field approach during batting practice with occasional pull-side lift. Displayed quality barrel control while recording an 80 mph bat-exit velocity. Ran a 7.81 60-yard dash. The primary backstop featured adequate receiving skills with minimal glove sway at the catch point. Pop times ranged from 2.03-2.10 on accurate throws of 75 mph from the crouch out of a high ¾ arm-slot with a moderate takeaway. Used knee-to-knee straight line footwork and smooth transfers allowing for repeatability on throws. Showed off comfortability while blocking, beating the ball to the spot and creating downward chest angles on both sides of the plate. The infielder flashed a low center of gravity, arriving to the ball on time with regularity creating momentum towards the target. A soft glove hand played through the ball yielding an accurate 75 mph arm-strength across the infield out of a high ¾ arm-slot.
Defensively, shows soft hands, athletic actions and solid foot work. Throwing motion is long.
Offensively, Initiates swing from neutral set up with knee to knee leg kick. There is adequate separation with aggressive weight shift and hip turn. A good feel for barrel is present. There is a substantial arm bar adding to length.
