2027 3B/RHP Alessandro Zayas out of the Team Ontario Astros program continues to standout and perform at the top of the 2027 class every event he attends. The left-hander hitter has some strength in the frame at 5-foot-11, 170-pounds and the ball is jumping off the bat with more ease following the winter. Zayas was lifting the ball to the middle with some authority throughout his two rounds with a peak exit velocity of 94.5mph (87.6 avg), peak distance of 330ft and Hard Hit % of 57. On the infield, the third baseman was up to 80mph and closed out his day running a 4.22 30-yard dash. The metrics and overall game continues to improve and the 38th-ranked 2027 in Ontario will be a name to follow in the Team Ontario Astros 2027 class.

Zayas has matured and grown since we saw him at last year’s Toronto Fall ID and it reflected in his metrics. 5-foot-11, 170-pounds and the left-handed hitter had one of the more consistent rounds of BP at the event with a Sweet Spot % of 70 (5th-best) and peak exit velocity of 88mph. The ball is jumping off the bat with more ease as he’s grown and added strength. Zayas took his reps at third base where he was 76mph across the diamond and also ran a 7.76 60-yard dash. On the mound, Zayas has also trended upwards since the event last fall where his fastball now sits 78-80mph, along with a curveball at 64-66mph and slider at 67-70mph.
