Lewis, a left-handed hitter, was working up the middle throughout his round of batting practice. He starts his swing in a slightly closed stance, does a good job loading and is a line drive hitter who likes to work up the middle. Lewis stood out in defensive evaluations where he moved well side to side and was working through balls. He sat in the mid 70s on the bump where he was able to command his curveball with 11/5 shape. He's able to throw strikes on the mound where he's made obvious improvements from last year.
A 2022 LHH, Lewis works from a slightly closed off stance in BP while he loads slowly back with his hands and at times has trouble transferring his weight and getting off his back leg. The path is slightly uphill and he worked more to his pull side in BP. At SS, he showed active feet and ability to go side to side and make plays during defensive evals. On the mound, Lewis has an idea with his delivery, gets his arm up quick and worked the zone with his repertoire, going after hitters early and often.
