Warrillow, a William & Mary commit, continued to impress at the Spring Training Scout Day. Standing 6-foot-3. 180-pounds, Warrillow ran a quick 6.76 in the 60. In the box, Warrillow used the whole ball park as he worked gap to gap with hard hit line drives. Near the end of his round he turned it loose and showed flashes of pull side pop. In the field, Warrillow moved well and fielded the ball cleanly, throwing up to 83 mph from the OF. Warrillow looks to be one of the standout bats we have here in Panama City, look for him to make some noise this week.
A standout at the showcase was Warrillow, a 2023 graduate. He brought a lot of tools to the plate, displaying a simple approach with little moving parts in his swing. During his three rounds of BP, he didn’t get cheated on any of his swings, driving the ball gap to gap. A key advantage to his swing is how quick his hands moved to the ball, as well as the adjustments made to catch solid barrels. Hands were a strong component of his swing as he adjusted well to different pitch locations. With an exit velo up to 97, Warrillow will be an interesting name to watch in the 2023 class.
