2027 RHP Cameron Betts is one of the stronger/physical arms in Ontario’s 2027 class and the 5-foot-11, 195-pound right-hander comes with some interesting secondary stuff. The Bearcats product sat 77-80mph at the PO Future Games Trials and it was the most strikes we’ve seen from Betts to-date as he was locating the pitch throughout his bullpen. The slider sat in the 66-68mph range (1.1” IVB/-3.7 HM) and it’s a quality changeup that sees him really kill the spin at 68-70mph (964 avg rpm). Betts also featured a cutter at 76-78mph. An underclass name to know in the Bearcats organization and it will be interesting to get a look in-game this summer.

The physical 5-foot-11, 195-pound frame put together a solid day on the bump. Equipped with a four pitch mix that includes: a fastball, changeup, slider, and curveball. The arm is long and loose and moves well down the mound for his size. The fastball sits in the 78-79 mph range. The change up shows good fade/depth with good bite to the breaking stuff. Betts shows feel for the operation and will look to play a key role in the Beartcats’ success in the ‘25 campaign.

2027 RHP/3B Cameron Betts continues to be a main attraction in the Bearcats program and he showed why at the Bearcats Scout Day as he put together a strong bullpen session. Present strength in the frame at 5-foot-11, 195-pounds and the fastball sat 78-79mph and works from an over-the-top slot that allows him to spin a good breaking ball with 12-6 shape. Betts also worked with an impressive changeup at 66-68mph and kills the spin on it with an average spin rate of 781rpm. Another good showing from Betts who will be a 2027 arm to follow in the Bearcats program.
