2026 C Carter Pokora continues to be a top performing defensive catcher everytime we see him with a quick catch/throw behind the dish. Lean frame with more room for strength at 6-foot-1, 175-pounds and the right-handed was spraying line-drives throughout his round with one of the top Sweet Spot %’s at 81%. Pokora posted a top exit velocity of 93mph (84.5 avg) and top distance of 294ft. Behind the plate, the Nationals catcher was up to 71mph with a pop-time range of 1.90-2.03. Pokora closed out his day running a 4.00 30-yard dash. An uncommitted catcher in the Nationals program who looks ready to make an impact on the programs 17U team this summer.
A prospect in the ‘26 class that operated effectively on both sides of the ball. Steps in the box from the right-side with a simplified approach. Pokora finished his rounds generating a peak exit velocity of 89.6 mph, a maximum distance of 346 feet, and a sweet spot % of 67. Concluded the afternoon behind the dish and displayed good catch/throw capabilities. The 6-foot-, 170-pound backstop was one of the better performers on the defensive end that recorded a pop-time of 1.91-2.06 seconds. As he adds strength in the coming years, we should see Pokora’s tools elevate to a height that would make an impact at the collegiate level.
Scouting Report: 6-foot-1, 175-pound, lean, strong, athletic frame. Showing strength throughout. A left-handed hitter, the hands are loose, relaxed, lower half is under control, small pick up and put down, gaining some ground. The swing is super smooth, a level to up path. The approach is from gap to gap, exit velocity of 90 mph, took a solid round of batting practice. Defensively, threw 73 mph, arm action is loose and whippy, working from a 3/4 slot. Moves well to both sides, fields out front, feet move throughout. Good looking prospect.
Exit Velocity: 90 mph
