Phillips was one of the top performing seniors at the Yankees Scout Day and impressed during BP as his Sweet Spot % of 100 was best at the event. Lean, athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 180-pounds and started his day by running a 7.29 60-yard dash and throwing up 80mph across the diamond. At the dish, Phillips flashed bat speed from the left-side and was impacting balls to the middle of the field throughout his round. He posted a peak exit velocity of 95.8mph (90mph avg), peak distance of 347ft (301 avg) and Hard Hit % of 67. An uncommitted senior in the Yankees program who showed tools that will play at the college level, in Canada or the U.S.

2025 3B/OF Cole Phillips boasted some of the better strength we saw at the event and did all from the left-side of the dish. Present, noticeable size at 5-foot-10, 190-pounds and really works through the lower-half with strong wrists and hands through the zone. The swing works towards the middle of the field and the Ontario Yankees product generated one of the top exit velocities at 92.2mph. Good first look from Phillips and our staff is interested in seeing more from Phillips as we only had a chance to see the left-handed bat in Oshawa.
