At 6-foot-6, 195-pounds, uncommitted 2023 Darcy Carter is hard to miss. The lanky RHP looks clean on the mound with a high release point that causes hitters trouble. Carter attacks hitters early with a heavy fastball that is consistently in the zone. He has athletic movements on the mound and is able to spin his breaking ball for strikes. As a hitter, his left-handed swing has come a long way since we last saw him. Carter hits from an upright stance, with a simple A to B swing. His bat stays through the zone and he catches the ball out front in both BP and live action. With a projectable frame that has yet to fill out, Carter has lots of room to grow and add more velo and power to his game. One to watch as he continues to develop.
Carter, a 6-foot-5, 182-pound, LHH immediately stood out when he walked in the room with his big frame. Carter starts in a quiet, closed stance as he gets into his load with a small step towards the pitcher. He showed his ability to hit line drives with a 66.7% line drive percentage from TrackMan. Adding strength will help the big LHH improve on his 82.8 mph exit velo going forward.
