2024 Derek Riesberry took advantage of his 72-74 mph (2400+ max SR) slider which generated a lot of swings and misses. FB worked 74-78 T79, showing progress as his 5-foot-10, 170lbs build fills out. Keep your eye on him for more improvement.
Physical: 5-10, 170 pounds; Average, slight build.
Pitching: Uses a center rubber setup while using an angled drop step. Belt high leg drive with a slight lean over the belt. Has a moderate stride landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while showing effortless and fluid actions; low 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 79 MPH, while sitting 74-78 MPH; arm side run with sink. SL: 72-74 MPH; lateral action. CH: 70-73 MPH; maintains same plain.
