In a pair of games that featured a slew of high-level arms, Schweizer was potentially the most intriguing arm as there’s plenty to dream on with the size and stuff. 6-foot-5, 195-pound right-hander controls his body well on the mound and fills up the zone with a good three-pitch mix. The fastball sat 86-88mph and creates ride on the fastball with a downer slider being the go-to secondary offering at 77-78mph. Also features a changeup at 83mph with feel for it. The slider was tough on right-handed hitters and while the fastball didn’t miss many bats, it induced plenty of weak contact. Allowed just one walk and four hits over three innings while punching out four. Will be a fun watch throughout his collegiate career at Purdue.

 

2024 RHP Evan Schweizer (uncommitted) is an interesting arm with your desirable pitchers frame at 6-foot-5, 195-pounds. Works downhill and looks to work down in the zone with his stuff. The fastball sat 85-87 T88mph on Friday and coupled it with a breaking ball at 76-78mph, tunneling the two pitches well. The breaking ball is still developing but showed the ability to land it for strikes. Intriguing overall package on the mound with the size and arm and the development of his secondary stuff could really bring his game to another level.
