2025 Ontario Future Games Trials
2027 INF/RHP Hugon Van out of the Ontario Astros program comes with an athletic build at 5-foot-11, 180-pounds and showcased as a two-way at the Future Games Trials. Offensively, it’s a short, fluid stroke from the right-side that generated plenty of line drives from a flat path. Van generated a peak exit velocity of 85.2mph, Sweet Spot % of 62% and Line Drive % of 62%. The Astros product was also up to 74mph on the infield and ran a 4.28 30-yard dash. Van is a good mover on the mound with a clean, simple delivery that allows him to fill up the zone, starting with his fastball in the 72-74mph range. The secondary stuff includes a horizontal breaking ball at 58-59mph and splitter at 64-65mph. Good mover in all areas and there’s upside as he continues to fill out and add strength.
