Body: 5-foot-10, 175-pound ['solid', 'sturdy'].
Hit: (Switch) Started in a tall stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Average bat speed. Good extension on his finish, rotational swing. Line drive approach.
Power: 91 mph exit velocity, average 80.54 mph. 65.72 mph bat speed average. 20.35 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (C) 2.25-2.35 pop times. Sure hands, rhythmic footwork, clean exchange. Projectable. Calm setup with some flexibility. (IF) Consistent hands, choppy aggressive footwork, natural exchange. Capable. Movements laterally were quick and he fields the ball out front.
Arm: 77 mph infield velocity. 73 mph catcher velocity. Stiff arm action, an-over-the-top slot, decent accuracy.
Speed: 8.25 (60-yard).
5-foot-7, 140-pound catcher, Magnaye is a member of the Toronto Cubs. Behind the plate, he worked in the 2.12-2.20 range, clean transfer, accurate footwork, let off quality throws up to 70. At the plate, it’s a compact swing, bat path works cleanly through the zone. He was up to 78 off the tee. 2023 grad to follow.
