Jones, a 6’4 225lbs 1B/C for the Ontario Terriers is a player that stands out as soon as you get an eye on him. In the infield the hands worked well staying out front, had a wide athletic base while approaching the ball. Behind the plate Jones shows some feel for the position with good footwork and quality receiving. At the plate the bat is a major tool in Jones game. The swing is loaded with good extension on his hands living up the middle to opposite field. The hand path looked clean with short quick actions towards the baseball. Jones will be a player to follow as one of the more advanced bats in his class.
Uncommitted 2024 catcher Lee Jones was a bit of an unknown going into the day but he put himself on the radar for the upcoming season. Jones has a big, strong frame and swings it from the left side. He was finding the barrel consistently throughout his BP with a good looking swing and bat path. He swung the wood bat well and the ball was jumping off his bat with a top exit velocity of 92.9 mph. Interested to get a look at the rest of Jones' game this spring once teams head outdoors.
