2026 3B/OF Matthew Perez Scott was one of the top performing 2026 positional players at the event and should be drawing interest of collegiate programs as his Grade 11 slowly comes to a close. Undersized at 5-foot-9, 185-pounds but makes up for it with his bat-to-ball skills, the way he plays the game and his defensive reliability. The right-handed hitter out of the Team Ontario Astros program was spraying hard-hit balls to all fields throughout his BP with a peak exit velocity of 97.2mph (91.1 avg), Hard-Hit% of 75%, Sweet Spot % of 75% and Line Drive% of 75%. Perez Scott also ran a 4.19 30-yard dash and was up to 82mph across the diamond.
A high-twitch athletic kid that ranks in as one of the top prospects in the ‘26 class. The hit tool was on display at our event posting a maximum exit velocity of 98.5 mph, a maximum distance of 376 feet, a hard hit % of 85.7, and a sweet spot % of 85.7. Perez’s bat plays and has made strides on the defensive side this offseason. He will be an intriguing follow for college coaches this summer.
‘26 Matthew Perez Scott was a bat that caught our attention with the ability to hit to all fields. The right-handed hitter moves well around the bases and two of his three hits went for triples. Quiet setup with length through the zone and gap-to-gap approach right now. One of the more advanced hitters in Ontario’s lineup.
2026 INF Matthew Perez Scott put together one of the most consistent rounds of BP with several swings at 88+mph and a best of 92mph. One of the younger players at the event with a strong, proportionate frame at 5-foot-8, 160-pounds and he looks to do damage from the right side of the plate. Rhythmic swing with a medium-sized leg-kick and bat speed through the zone. Moves well side-to-side on the infield and the actions will only get better as he continues to develop. Intriguing 2026 bat to follow here.
