2023 SS/RHP Nolan Hartley is one of the older and more mature players in the program and should get some looks from college coaches at the next level. Athletic looking frame up the middle at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds with clean actions and arm strength across the diamond at 84mph. Strength plays at the dish as well where the right-handed hitter posted the top exit velocity at 89mph with ability to lift for some power at times. Stepped on the mound and topped out at 80mph and was also one of the quicker runners on the day with a 7.41 60-time. An unsigned senior who should be on the radar of junior college coaches.
Hartley's maturity was evident throughout the entire event and especially at shortstop. He's reliable at the position with actions and a quick first step. His infield velocity of 78 was 4th best at the event. He works to all fields from the right-side and there's some extra strength he can tap into with his 6-foot-1, 175-pound frame. Hartley has been a standout at this event in prior years that was the case again in the defensive drills.
instinct and actions both at the plate and defensively at shortstop. The hands work and he is confident with them, staying in control with body awareness while the arm has quickness and strength with carry across the diamond. At the plate, it's a small stride to go with strength and quickness in the swing. He stayed balanced throughout and really got into some balls in the LCF gap that jumped off the bat. He’ll be able to add more to his 6-foot-1,c 181-pound frame and we really like the present tools to Hartley right now. A nice 2022 who is only going to get better.
