Mulligan, a 5-foot-10, 158-pound infielder, was quietly a solid player all week long. At the plate, Mulligan demonstrated quickness in a controlled slightly upward bat path. His body movements worked together, allowing him to be on-time with separation which resulted in a 91 mph exit velocity on Scout Day. He manned the left side of the infield well all week, he displayed correct actions, coming around and angling himself to make accurate throws. He showed the ability to turn a double play, doing so with a quick glove-hand transfer and arm strength. Mulligan has made physical advancements and is stronger and more explosive on the diamond. He is one of the better shortstops in his class, and this week he proved why.
4.2.17 - Young 2020 grad with loose arm and athletic actions at 5-foot-10, 150-pounds. Moves well defensively with feel for glove in the middle of the infield, arm works across the diamond with velocity of 79 mph and can make plays on the run and side to side. At the plate, balanced setup, good load, slightly downhill bat path, some whip through the zone and in hands. On the mound, Mulligan fastball topped out at 79 mph as he worked strictly out the stretch. Lower half moves well down the mound with big stride length, arm is clean in the back and works out front with intent. Threw strikes with spin and feel for curveball. One to watch from the 2020 class, does a lot of things right with solid actions.
