2025 SS Thomas Hanger was one of the top offensive producers on the weekend out of the leadoff spot for the HPP Tigers. 5-foot-9, 170-pound left-hander works gap-to-gap and consistently puts the ball in play with the ability to move himself around the bases. Also showed well all weekend long at the shortstop position with range, hands and the ability to create outs on tough plays. Hanger does a lot of things right on the baseball field and it shows in tournament-style play.
Hanger was one of the more athletic players that showed well on both sides of the ball. On the infield, he shows good actions and footwork with a strong, accurate arm with the ability to throw from different arm slots. In the box, there’s some barrel whip through the zone with a compact, balanced swing that works up to 92.7 mph EV. Good overall day from Hanger and he should be a 2025 to keep tabs on going forward as he continues to develop and get stronger.
2024 SS Thomas Hanger put together one of the best rounds of BP at the New Year Open. 5-foot-9, 160-pound middle infielder from the Ontario Blue Jays had one of the top avg distances (259ft) thanks to his ability to consistently find the barrel. Left-handed hitter posted a top exit velocity of 87.7mph. Does a lot of things well on the field and will only get better as he matures and adds strength.
2024 grad, Hanger is a 5-foot-4, 114-pound infielder. Taking his reps at the plate, it’s a mechanically sound swing, got his foot down early and worked up to 68 exit-velo wise. In the infield, the actions are clean, impressed with good rhythm, and clean all-around mechanics. He’s young but has the makings to be a good player down the road. Lot’s to like- impressive showing.
