2025 SS/RHP Ty Wilson (London Badgers) stood out during the New York State Games, running an impressive 6.56 (60-yard) which was the second-fastest recorded at the New York State Games’ first session. The 5-foot-7, 140-pound two-way player has made major improvements at the dish, consistently making hard-contact in-game while showing bat-to-ball skills. He picked up multiple hits in each game at the event, highlighted by a homerun in his first at-bat. Wilson also worked a quality inning on the mound, locating all parts of the zone with his fastball, while also flashing a breaking ball. The London product showed the ability to pound the zone and generated plenty of ground balls. On a loaded Canadian infield, Wilson displayed some of the best actions and instincts with agile movements and plenty of confidence on the left-side of the diamond. Impressive showing from the uncommitted 2025 who was the most productive player for the Canadian team.
Wilson, 5-foot-5, 115-pounds, is an interesting player out of the London Badgers organization. He is a scrappy player, works the count in AB’s and is always tough out. In his first AB, he fouled off multiple pitches, finally got a pitch he could drive and hit a solid liner into LF. In his second AB, he took an aggressive approach to the plate and hammered a line drive the other way into the corner for a stand-up double. In the field, he made the routine plays look routine and was steady at SS. Look for Wilson to continue to grow and get better as a player throughout the next couple years.
2026 SS/RHP Ty Wilson, 5-foot-5, 115-pounds - Despite the lack of size right now from Wilson, he does a lot of things right on the field and moves well in all areas with high energy. Quick on his feet on the infield which help get to balls deep in the hole. Top velocity of 61mph. Creates good seperation as a right-handed hitter where he looks to work line drives to all fields. Good approach in the box with a top exit velocity of 82mph. Medium-effort delivery on the mound with a top fastball velocity of 72mph. Offspeed stuff still developing but flashed a breaking ball at 55-56 and changeup at 65-67.
