Small and undersized at 5-foot-4, 130-pounds, James comes ready to play and his skills should not be overlooked. Moves well and shows agility in lower half, ran a 7.62 lasered time 60. Defensively, sound approach in the infield, confident glove and quick first step to ball, can go to his left or right, more in the tank on his throws from a low-3/4 slot, can include lower half and at times will cut himself off at finish. Showed athleticism as he barehanded slow roller at the end of defensive portion. At the plate, James was aggressive with his approach and gets everything out of swing, hits from a balanced position with quiet, relaxed hands, leg kick to load, lands controlled and balanced while involving lower half and getting hips through. Plays much bigger than size, James is one to watch over 2017.
