2026 OF Wesley Saunders was a Junior Future Gamer this past summer and his game has made noticeable strides since. He looks to have sprouted up, now 6-foot, 165-pounds with plenty more room to grow and add strength. It’s a balanced swing with a line-drive approach that works gap-to-gap right now and his peak distance of 342ft was tied for fourth-best at the event. It was a quality overall showing from the Toronto Mets product who found plenty of barrels with the second-best Sweet Spot % (65).
Saunders projects as one of the top 2026 outfielders in the province with a top of the order profile. In the box, he has some twitch and feel for the barrel with the ability to spray the ball around the park. There’s definitely more power coming when he adds strength as he already has a 89.9 mph EV. In the outfield, he mans center-field with long strides and good routes, and an arm that is still developing. It’ll be interesting to see how Saunders develops over the offseason.
