Hit: RHH. Tall, open stance. Flat bat with the hands right by the ear. Powerful swing. Steps into the stride with good connection. Sprayed deep balls to all part of the field. 63.4 mph bat speed with 10 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 84 max exit velocity, averaged 77.2 mph. 243' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-72 mph. Accurate, one hop throws. Short action.
Defense: 2.07-2.16 pop times. Moves well. Catches the ball deep. Easy transfer.
ATH: 7.44 runner in the 60. 1.78 and 4.15 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
Timpano (5-foot-10, 195-pounds) was a big winner on the day and behind the plate there was a lot to like. The arm stands out with a quick-actions, the transfer was smooth and easy while the footwork was simple but efficient. At the plate the right-handed swing was loaded, he stays above the baseball and didn’t miss many barrels. Lots to like from the uncommitted 2024 catcher.
Timpano, 5-foot-10, 195 pound catcher that showed off his skills on both sides of the field. Behind the plate the receiving was quiet, stole some pitches throughout the day and had a quick transfer out of the hand. At the plate Timpano lived mostly up the middle with a few loud hits up the middle. Has shown his power potential throughout the week in Cortland Ny and have looked at home behind the plate.
2024 C Will Timpano is a high-IQ catcher from Team Ontario who consistently gets the job done in big moments. Did his best work on the day behind the dish with a 74mph velocity and 2.06 pop-time. Strong, sturdy frame at 5-foot-10, 195-pounds with some of the better catch-and-throw skills we saw at the event. Right-handed hitter who works gap-to-gap and has the ability to find the barrel for hard contact. Good overall first showing this year from Timpano.
Timpano, a third-baseman/catcher, is listed at 5-foot-8, 180-pounds. 8.44 runner. 2.42-2.53 pop-time, he accurate on throws across that were up to 64 mph. Showed off sound glovework at third-base, controlled his movements well. Can play both positions. At the plate, did a good job of staying through the baseball and creating some lift. He was up to 71 mph off the tee.
