Szabo (Troy, Freshman) pitched just three innings out of the bullpen for Canada but he was dominant in all three outings. His first outing was his best and helped Canada nearly take down the eventual winners, the United States. The right-hander went 1.1 innings and allowed no hits, no walks, no runs and punched out three.
In total he allowed just two hits, zero earned runs, one walk and no extra-base hits. Szabo had his stuff on display on the big stage and did so last summer as well under the PBR Canada uniform at the NorthEast Senior Games before committing to Troy.

2021 NorthEast Senior Games
Maybe the best performance of the event, Szabo punched out 8 of 9 hitters in his three innings against New Jersey and was in complete control from pitch one, working mainly with a fastball/slider combo. The fastball sat 90-91 for the three innings and had feel in the zone as he worked to both sides of the plate and elevated for swings and misses. The slider was 75-78 mph and he threw for both strikes early in the count and then was able to use as a putout pitch when ahead in the count. The slider had more 10/4 shape and his best ones were when he stayed on it and back-footed a couple lefties. The body has present muscle and can still get more size as he stand 6-foot-3. One of the top uncommitted 2022 arms in Canada.
