2025 Holiday Hitters Toronto Showcase
2028 OF Gabriel D’Ercole was one of the top underclassmen at the event and the Super Sophomore Games alum continues to show signs of being a productive player going forward. While his overall tools really stand out, all we saw on the day was the left-handed bat and it left an impression once again. The 5-foot-7, 160-pound outfielder works with a short, quick stroke that worked mostly to the pullside with a peak exit velocity of 93.2mph and peak distance of 326ft. D’Ercole had some of the best Blast Motion data among underclassmen with average bat speed of 64.6mph and average hand speed of 20mph. The 19th-ranked player in Ontario’s 2028 class.

D’Ercole burst onto the scene this week as one of the more exciting 2028’s we saw, as he posted some of the stronger metrics among his class this week and looked comfortable in the box. It’s a twitchy and athletic look from the left side, using the toe-tap before getting on-plane with some violence and intent. Hands are set high but have no problem getting through the zone for hard contact. Gabriel posted a peak exit velocity of 90.1mph and a peak distance of 313ft, showing noteworthy gains since the 2024 Junior Future Games Trials in April and putting our staff on notice going forward. Should be yet another close follow in a 2028 class that’s taking shape right in front of our eyes.
