2025 Ontario Future Games Trials
‘27 SS/RHP Grady Jones is one of the top 2027 prospects in the Nation’s Capital area and comes with two-way abilities. The two-way out of the Canada Reds Academy program moves well on the mound and on the infield with arm strength playing in both areas. Strength to come at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds and the right-handed hitter has more of a contact approach right now that works gap-to-gap, generating a max exit velocity of 88.7mph. Jones was also up to 92mph on the infield and ran a 3.96 30-yard dash. On the mound, the right-hander sat 85-86mph with the fastball and paired it with a slider at 75-76mph (-0.3” IVB/-6.0 HM) and changeup at 78-79mph.
2025 Ottawa/Gatineau New Year Invite
There’s a lot to like from the right-handed hitting two-way out of the Canada Reds organization. Jones was one of the top performers last week at the Sensplex and started the day off by exhibiting clean actions on the turf. In addition, the arm strength is advanced for a ‘27 posting a 85 mph infield velocity during defensive workouts. Coupled it with two impressive rounds with the stick that generated a 91.3 mph maximum exit velocity. The swing is a short-compact stroke, syncs up well, and stayed on the barrel throughout his rounds. Furthermore, he went on to finish the day off on the bump. Grady is an easy mover with an overall clean operation. The heater registered in the 83.7-85.3 mph range and spun the off-speed well during his pen. Jones is a name to know in the coming years with loud tools that will only improve with maturity.
