Physical: Ultra athletic and projectable 5-foot-10, 165-pound frame with room to add strength. 6.99 runner in the 60-yard dash with solid straight line footspeed.
Offensively: RHH. Started with a wide, slightly open stance with minor bend in the knees, the hands begin just above the shoulder in the setup. Utilized a lift and replace stride to initiate a flat barrel path with plenty of juice to the pull-side into the hitting zone. Got through extension with some lift after contact dealing damage when getting the hands out to the front of the plate. Athletic and adjustable front side allowed the hands to enter the zone while matching plane early and often / high level bat to ball skills with a mature approach. Worked gap to gap mostly during his round with a 30% line drive / 60% fly ball rate per Trackman Baseball .. recorded a top bat-exit velocity of 89 mph / peak batted ball distance of 300 feet.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured a low center of gravity with advanced footwork on the approach, used “banana routes” to get around the baseball on his right side playing downhill with momentum towards the target, soft glove hand played low to the ground with solid understanding of when to push or give. Accurate, high ¾ slot across the diamond with a moderate arm swing. INF - 76 mph
Bryan initiates swing from closed set up with short stride staying closed. Early hand leak and passive weight shift limit separation. There is intent in swing and hands work well to baseball. Benefit would be gained from overall greater use of lower half while staying square in stride. A 74 mph bat exit velocity was recorded.
Defensively, consistently plays ball bottom up with solid footwork and follow on throws. Hands are adequate benefit would be gained from using feet aggressively in achieving advantageous hops and angles.
