Physical: Well put together, strong 6-foot-1, 215lb frame with plenty of power in the actions.
Offensively: RHH - Started from a balanced, slightly bent/coiled operation with the hands above the shoulder. Utilized a small lift and replace stride out towards the pitcher holding direction into the forward move. Really drives the back hip into the front side efficiently creating a good weight shift at impact. Liked to get extended on pitches out over the plate giving way to a mostly LCF approach during batting practice; recorded a peak bat-exit velocity of 96 mph via Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: The third baseman showed accurate footwork from a moderately postured position, shuffled from right to left down to the target, allowing a trusted glove hand to handle smoothly out in front at the fielding window. Adequate pace and an accurate high ¾ throwing arm with some carry across the diamond (83 mph).
Pitching: RHP - Begins from the middle/left side of the rubber using a quick side rocker into a balanced leg lift at waist height; drop and drive out towards the plate getting into the backside well at footstrike. Featured a connected move into rotation with a repeatable high ¾ slot yielding consistent strikes on the mound. FB ranged from 80-82 mph with up to 22.7 inches of IVB per Trackman Baseball. Mixed a gradual 68-70 mph CB at 11/5 tilt flashing feel for the zone and ability to throw in any count. Countered and effectively killed 72-74 mph CH (1314rpm average) with up to 16 inches of HM away from LHH.
Physical: 6’1 215lb RHP/3B ran a 7.04 laser time 60-yard dash. Solid frame moves well and displays explosiveness throughout his game.
Offensively: Keeps it simple with his set up. He uses a small stride forward and some hand rhythm to drive the barrel into the hitting zone. Has a quick move into the hitting zone and allows the barrel to work flat through the zone. Drives ball well to his pullside gap.
Defensively: Raw movements as he works laterally. Catches the ball and has a small hesitation as he catches the ball. Arm works mainly OTT but shows the ability to drop down when playing on the run and throwing across his body.
Pitching: Short and easy windup. Arm works smooth and long, getting on top of the ball and working downhill into the strike zone.
Physical: 6-foot-1, 205 pounds; Physical build. 7.16 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Square, slightly closed off with turn from hip; repeatable and consistent timing. Strong back leg rotation; 17 degree bat angle into the zone via Blast Motion. Kingsbury is able to produce 14.8 G’s of force with an on-plane efficiency of 65%. Power to the pull side with the ability to elevate the ball; average Trackman exit velocity of 89.6 MPH; peak exit velo was 96 MPH.
Defensively: Slight bend in the knees could play lower; gets in good position by way of footwork. quick transfer allows for the ball to get released early and on time often; short explosive action. INF - 80 MPH.
Pitching: Shows knowledge of pitching mechanics, stays closed through rotation, brace on front leg can be better by staying firm and not allowing soft landing . Smooth arm path that is a high 3/4 to over the top throwing motion. FB: T 80 MPH, 78-80 MPH. 78-80 with 4 seam action and ride through the zone (17" avg of induced vertical break). Spin ranges 2131-2260 RPMs. CB: 63-65 MPH with big 12-6 action, pops up out of his hand upon release, this will be picked up upon as Kingsbury progresses in his career. CH: 69-70 MPH. Straight CH where he deadens the spin and maintains the plane out of the hand.
6-foot-1, 205-pound primary pitcher sat 80-81 from a high 3/4 arm slot with small arm-side run to his fastball. Showed feel for his curveball at 64-68 with tight 11/5 break. Split-change at 73-75 was thrown with good arm speed and showed some arm-side fade. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and uses a lift-and-replace stride to begin. Showed some pull-side pop while creating consistent back spin. Registered a bat exit velocity of 93 mph and ran a 7.04 60-yard dash. Showcased sound defensive actions with solid 81 mph arm strength across the diamond.
6-foot-1, 205-pound primary pitcher has added significant size and strength to his frame over the past year. The righty sat 79-81 from a high 3/4 arm slot with heavy arm-side run to his fastball. Also showcased a curveball with 11/5 rotation at 61-63 and a changeup thrown with good arm speed at 67-70. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Displayed a middle of the field approach with balance throughout and a feel for the barrel. Registered a bat exit velocity of 91 mph and ran a 7.06 60-yard dash. Showed active feet and played through the ball routinely defensively with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond.
6-foot, 150-pound righty sat 77-78 from a high 3/4 arm slot with short arm-side run. Curveball at 61-65 showed looping 10/4 rotation. Also showed a changeup at 68-69 with little movement. The right-handed hitter starts from a square stance and initiates his swing with a lift-and-replace stride. Showed rhythm throughout with an ability to create backspin. Registered a 78 mph bat exit velocity and ran a 7.15 60-yard dash. Showed active feet defensively with an ability to play through the baseball. Displayed accurate 79 mph arm strength across the diamond.
