Physical: 6-foot-4, 185 pounds; Lean, Wiry build. 7 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet spread wide; upright bat position. Short take back with the hands with an up and down stride for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing an aggressive lower half. Showed a uphill swing path with a high two handed finish. More flyballs than line drives and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 83 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a low to the ground setup; uses prep hop while moves well laterally. Hands are out in front with a clean transfer. Moderate arm circle from a standard 3/4 arm slot. INF - 81 MPH.
Pitching: Bausman uses a glove side setup while using a side step. Belt high leg drive with a slight coil away from the plate. Has a moderate stride length landing inline with the plate. Long arm swing while stabbing downward, while working through a high 3/4 slot. Square to the plate with finish. FB: Peak velo of 83 MPH, while sitting 81-83 MPH; life through the zone. CB: 72-73 MPH; showed depth. SL: MPH; short action. CH: 74-76 MPH; fading action.
Physical: 6’4 185lb SS/RHP ran a 7.18 laser timed 60 yard dash. Tall frame has plenty of room to add additional strength to his game.
Offensively: He starts with his feet wide and his weight centered in his stance. His bat is rested on his back shoulder just before he uses a long swaying load back into his rear leg to begin the timing mechanism. He uses his long levers to fire the barrel on an uphill path through the hitting zone.
Defensively: He has active feet and shows the ability to not allow his height to get in the way of lateral moves. His hands work together as he funnels into the center of his body and allows his momentum to continue flowing through the play. His arm works from the same short ¾ arm slot on all throws to bases.
Pitching: he has a controlled windup and he lifts and begins his move down the mound. With such size and leverage he is able to move clean and efficiently. His arm works similar to that from SS and he has a pull down motion from his frontside showing intent behind the pitch. Shows a tendency to fall off the mound to his glove side.
