Uncommitted. Following a Vanderbilt commit and South Carolina commit out of the pen, the right-handed pitcher showed out in the short relief appearance on Friday at NPI. Coming out of the pen firing, the dynamic arsenal was clicking on all cylinders. Keeping a potent Team GA lineup, filled with commits top to bottom, off-balance. On the FB sat at 90-91 and topped at 92, with heavy arm-side-run. Tunneling off the fastball was a tight wipeout SL at 76-77. Flashed a CB at 75-77 with 12-6 action and late drop. Also mixed in a mid 80’s CH. This electric array of pitches was on full display from the former future gamer.
Physical: Durable, projectable 6-foot-2, 175-pound frame with loose actions.
Pitching: RHP. Fluid mover with ability to separate and close the gap with a fast arm out of a H ¾ slot. Imparts consistent arm-side run and sink off the plate, up to 85MPH (2300+ rpms) for a 50% zone rate. Manipulated the breaking ball for two different shapes; 68-71MPH two-plane CB and 69-71MPH lateral SL. Added a hard-fading 75-78MPH CH at 20 inch HM.
Physical: Projectable, lean 5-foot-9, 152lb frame. 8.57 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Upright, shoulder-width stance with the hands operating by the ear loosely. Utilized a toe-tap stride to initiate a flat, whippy path into the hitting zone. Stayed in the legs well and finished with two-hands on the backside, extending the plane. Recorded a T78 mph bat-exit velocity and showed barrel accuracy, posting a 63% sweet spot rate during his round. Feel for the middle of the field and hit into a blocked off, firm front-side.
Defensively: The middle infielder fielded out in front with adequate pace and bent in the waist. Funneled cleanly inward and released after a shuffle from a H ¾ slot (75 mph arm). More comfortable moving to his left with some pace available.
Pitching: RHP - Started off the middle of the rubber; lots of control, hands over head into stack position before driving out towards the mitt. Repeated often, landing a 74-75 mph FB with heavy arm-side run. Mixed a downer 64-66 mph breaking ball and flashed a solid 68-70 mph CH into the zone at times.
3.2.19 - 5-foot-1, 95-pound primary right-handed pitcher sat 56-58 mph with good command from a high 3/4 arm-slot. His changeup was 49-52 mph with small arm-side-run. Featured advanced feel for spin on his 48-50 mph slider. The left-handed hitter starts with a square stance and uses a heel-raise to initiate his swing. Displayed adequate hands at the plate while recording a 60 mph bat-exit-velocity. Recorded accurate throws of 54 mph across the infield. Ran a 9.13 60-yard dash.
