10/19/13 Shirk is a 6-foot-5, 190-pound righty that sat 78-79 from a high 3/4 arm slot. He showcased a fluid delivery and hides the baseball very well. Shirk displayed an 11/5 breaking curveball at 64 mph. While the pitch lacks velocity it shows good shape and the potential to be a solid out pitch. He also commanded a 69 mph changeup. Shirk just turned 17 in August and has a tremendous upside. His frame should continue to develop for some time and significant velocity gains are likely.
