2/15/15 Lauer's delivery has some funk to it, with a hop at the top of this balance point and him pushing his hands vertically above head-height before lowering them to his chest to separate. He has a stab at the bottom of his armswing and pitches from an over-the-top slot. He threw strikes with his fastball and change-up, which were both fairly straight. The action on his slurvy breaking ball varied from 11/5 to more of a sweeper.

2/14/15 Lauer, a primary pitcher, starts from a slightly open stance and takes a short stride to square. As he loads his hands, he creates a slight armbar and wraps the barrel behind his head, necessitating some length in his swing to get the barrel into the zone. Defensively, Lauer fielded the ball in toward his body, but showed solid arm strength from an over-the-top slot.

11/1/14 Lauer has a solid 6-foot-3, 185-pound frame and showcased a very solid three pitch mix with repeatable mechanics. The junior sat 81-83 from a high 3/4 arm slot and flashed a tight breaking curveball with 11/5 rotation at 74 mph. Lauer's changeup was delivered at fastball arm speed with cutting action and some late sink. The righty has a hip coil to his delivery and throws downhill indicating additional velocity spikes moving forward.
