Physical: 5-8, 178 pounds; Sturdy, full build. 7.64 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Even setup, with feet wide spread; bat positioned at a 45 degree angle. Short take back with the hands with a toe-tap for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a downward swing path with a a finish around the back. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 87 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying low during receiving. Hands are soft with a clean transfer. Short take back from a high/over the top arm slot. 2.15-2.25 pop times. C - 71 MPH.
Physical: Compact 5-foot-8, 180lb frame with even proportions. 7.65 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Balanced, even stance, as the hands started simply at the shoulder to begin. Utilized a stretched lift-and-replace stride to initiate the swing through a whippy, flat path into the hitting zone. Maintained a line-drive approach where it was pitched, allowing for balance in the lower-half and barrel-awareness in deep counts. Notched a T83 mph exit velocity on this date via Trackman.
Defensively: The primary catcher featured adequate receiving actions from multiple stances in the crouch. Pop times ranged between 2.11-2.20 with a short arm-slot and quick release on the front side from H ¾ slot (72 mph). Accurate thrower.
Physical: Compact, physical 5-foot-8, 175-pound frame with strength throughout. 8.38 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, slightly open stance with the hands showing some rhythm high at head height in the setup. Utilized a toe-tap stride with good stretch in the body upon footstrike allowing for high intent through a flat path in the hitting zone. Worked the middle of the field with a short stroke yielding hard contact during batting practice (50% line drive rate) while wearing out the LCF gap. Adjustable lower half at the plate and stayed behind the ball with consistency in the approach. Recorded an 81 mph peak bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball.
Defensively: Primary middle infielder demonstrated adequate footwork during defensive evaluations keeping the feet on the move with feel for the glove hand side in the routes. Used a soft glove hand out in front allowing for an accurate 73 mph arm strength across the diamond. Projects as a second baseman at the moment with ability to handle the pace of the game defensively.
