Ran a 7.24 60-yard dash and showcased pop times of 2.16-2.24 on throws of 70 mph from the crouch. Receives well from a wide base and displayed a short arm stroke with quick feet during his transition.
10/29/16 5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and initiates his swing with a bat-waggle load and a leg-lift stride. Put together a solid batting practice round repeatedly barreling baseballs to the pull side with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. The junior ran a 7.01 60-yard dash and registered pop times of 2.31-2.32 on throws of 74 mph from the crouch. Displayed quick feet and a clean transition with a short arm throwing motion.
10/8/16 5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitter took one of the top rounds of batting practice on the day. Starts from an open stance and uses a leg-lift stride to initiate his swing. Drops hands prior to load but displayed the ability to get his foot down and barrel to the hitting zone on time repeatedly with a bat exit velocity of 81 mph. Displayed sound defensive skills with quick feet, a clean transition and a top pop time of 2.28 on throws of 71 mph from the crouch. Showcased quiet actions in receiving the baseball and a soft wall for blocking. Ran a 7.20 60-yard dash on this date but has run a 7.06 previously.
6/10/16 5-foot-9, 160-pound primary right-handed hitter starts from an open stance and utilizes a leg lift stride with a high hands load to create a bat exit velocity of 78 mph. Hands work well inside the baseball with a consistent line drive approach. Left-handed swing lags behind his dominant side with a tendency to pull the bat head through the zone. Primary catcher displayed pop times of 2.25-2.35 on throws of 65 mph from the crouch consistently on the bag. Sophomore also showed athletic actions in the outfield with accurate 75 mph arm strength.
