A right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Uses a bat tip to get his barrel going during his knee pinch load and stride. Path is mostly level and he swings with intent. Bat speed is above average and his top tool is his strength. Ball jumped off his bat especially to his pull side. Has a middle of the lineup look to him, consistently finding his pull side gap. Behind the plate, he starts in a very low, athletic position. Transfers smoothly to the ear while throwing downhill. Showcases quick lower half rotation towards second. In the outfield, he plays with fluidity. Approaches the ball in rhythm. Consistently fields the ball to the outside of his glove foot while quickly transitioning into release. Releases from a 3/4 slot with a short action. Outfield arm strength is adequate.

6/21/16 5-foot-9, 150-pound prospect. Ran a 4.69 from home to first. At the plate he keeps his hands relatively simple during his short stride forward. Has a ton of batspeed for his age and frame. Ball jumped off his bat in batting practice and he registered an exit velocity of 94 mph. Still has more in the tank once he learns to gather his weight in his load prior to transferring it into contact. Gap to gap pop at this stage. Behind the plate he showed above average arm strength with quickness to his feet. Transfer skills are adequate but could be improved. Pop times ranged from 2.04-2.19. Also worked out in the outfield. Does a nice job of playing through the baseball before throwing to home plate with 80 mph arm strength. Expect that number to improve as he gets more out of his crow hop.
