Offensively: RHH. Open setup, with feet narrow; upright bat position. Lifts hands with a moderate leg kick for timing. Stays behind the ball while showing a strong lower half. Showed a slight lift to the ball with a finish around the back. More line drives than flyballs and groundballs with a peak exit velocity of 98 MPH via Trackman.
Defensively: Starts with a compact setup; utilizing a traditional primary position while staying in an elevated position. Hands work through the ball with a seamless transfer. Short take back from a high 3/4 arm slot. 1.91-2.03 pop times. C - 75 MPH. INF - 81 MPH. Also working out at 1B, Slatt executed his defensive round nicely. Showed off quick, agile feet with a clean glove and easy transfers.
Physical: Strong/durable 5-foot-10, 205lb frame with thick proportions and connected actions. 7.81 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, crouched, open stance as the knees were slightly bent to start. Used the ground well throughout his swing, getting stretched on time with a leg lift stride producing a loud, violent slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Hit behind the baseball with consistency, sending a few missiles to the pull-side over 350+ feet (360 foot peak batted ball distance via Trackman). True middle of the order traits with ability to handle velocity in game action with tangible bat-speeds. Notched a 50% fly ball rate, playing admirably into a T101 mph bat-exit velocity. Delivered powerful, extra-base hit results when getting extended with the hands at the front of the plate.
Defensively: The primary backstop featured a controlled left knee down stance in the receive, showing off a soft glove hand. Pop times ranged from 2.03-2.09 with natural pre-catch rhythm and a quick, successful move out of the crouch yielding immediate releases from fluid ¾ slot (71 mph arm, accurate). Able to control the run game while staying under the pitch in the catch/throw phase.
Physical: Strong, compact, and durable 5-foot-10, 210-pound frame with big time physicality in the box. 8.07 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, open stance with the weight barely favoring the backside as the hands showed a loose setup out in front of the shoulder. Utilized a leg hang stride early in the delivery allowing the hands to on time and arms extended at the front of the plate through a quick, flat path with jump to all fields and lift after contact. Recorded a standout 96 mph bat-exit velocity per Trackman Baseball and a 348 foot batted ball distance, which points to high level power that has already arrived. A 76 mph peak bat speed tells you he’s really strong and uses the whole body at the plate and a 42% line drive rate gives confidence that he can hit for some average down the line as well.
Defensively: Primary backstop flashed a low, wide setup in a traditional crouch position; simple and easy receiving skills with good pocket awareness. Featured developing catch and throw abilities during pop time with quick transfers and ability to get straight line in a hurry, got outside the ball at times and cut it on accurate 68 mph throws towards the target. Adequate blocking abilities with some hitch in the movements.
