Physical: The recent Tennessee Tech commit stands a strong/athletic 5-foot-9, 170lbs with natural feel in all phases. 6.63 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Top of the order profile from a balanced/calm approach; even setup and hands at the shoulder. Utilized a short lift and replace stride with a hand pump for rhythm before launching through a slightly uphill, rhythmic path into the hitting zone. Lots of deep fly ball contact and carry to the pull-side gap posting a 67% line drive rate via Trackman Baseball en route to a T92 mph bat-exit velocity during his batting practice round. Ability to deposit extra-base hits from gap to gap and found success in game staying on the barrel with a trusted/mature approach at the plate.
Defensively: The primary shortstop featured advanced footwork, making all the plays with quick tempo/pace across the diamond. Ability to stick on the left side of the infield and downhill momentum towards the target at the fielding window; soft, easy actions inward at the middle of his body with a clean exchange and fluid high ¾ release (85 mph arm, carry). Able to manipulate arm angles on the run, dropping down slightly lower with controlled arm-side run.
Physical: A top performer at #AllStateWest, Wiesen stood in at an athletic 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with explosive movement strategies. 6.97 runner in the 60-yard dash.
Offensively: RHH - Balanced, even setup as the hands start controlled with minimal rhythm above the shoulder, gather load and a short lift and replace stride allowed the barrel to play with increased accuracy through a flat path with ability to manipulate horizontal and vertical attack angles based on pitch quadrant. Very mature and fluid swing at the plate; up to a 95 mph peak batted ball distance (67% line drive rate) to go along with a 73% peak on plane efficiency. Going to be a hitter to know as he matures down the line.
Defensively: The primary shortstop played with low technique as the chest got dowhill early, advanced defender with ability to range in any direction, feel for pace as well getting it in and out of the glove hand at will, accurate 85 mph arm strength across the diamond, high floor / high ceiling product. Handled the play on the run with ease.
Physical: 5-foot-8, 160 pounds; athletic, lean frame. 6.92 runner in the 60.
Offensively: RHH. Athletic, upright stance with an even base; small stride for timing. Aggressive with Stays behind the ball well, fast hands allows for the barrel to clear the zone quickly. Line drive approach; peak Trackman exit velocity of 89 MPH.
Defensively: Starts low with a wide base; Low and aggressive on approach. smooth hands fielding the ball in the middle of his body; Short arm swing with a 3/4 arm slot. INF - 85 MPH.
